All South Jersey Junior High Region Band

Congratulations to two GTMS Band students on their selection to the All South Jersey Junior High Region Band. 

8th grader Rudy Kreutzer was accepted in all three percussion categories, and will play timpani with the Red Band. This is Rudy's second time in Region Band!

7th grader Sydney Mullin auditioned on flute, out scoring about 50 other flute students to earn her second acceptance into this prestigious group, also in the Red Band!

Rudy and Sydney will attend several rehearsals and perform in concert on March 1st! The concert will be at Lower Cape May Regional, 3:00pm.

GTMS Wrestlers Win Titles!

The GTMS Grizzlies wrestling team competed in the Atlantic-Cape-Cumberland Tournament on Saturday at Ocean City High School. The team won 14 medals and finished with 19 top 4 finishers in the eight team tournament. The Grizzlies set a school record with five champions, highlighted by Saleem Wormley, who became the school's first two-time champion. Dylan Arrom, Anthony Nastasi, Nick Carrero, Nick Martin and Wormley all won titles. Jack Foley, Joe Curry and Luke Wescoat each finished in second. DeVante Tyus, Bryan Wright, Sebastian Palmer, Josh Satre, Luke Stoloff and Jeremiah Baskerville all finished in third and Anthony LaVigna, Brandon Hirshman, Quinn McLaughlin, Pablo Flores and R'Mohni McGaney all came in fourth place. Go Grizzlies wrestling! 

GTMS Teacher of the Year - Mrs. Rethy!

We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Jeanne Rethy is our GTMS Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Rethy is an ESL teacher for grades 7 and 8 at GTMS. Here are some quotes from her nomination letter:

Sports Physicals 1/22

Our school doctor will be at GTMS on Thursday, January 22 to provide free sport physicals to our students.  If your child does not have a sports physical and is interested in participating in volleyball, indoor soccer, baseball, softball or track and field please be sure to have a completed physical form turned into the nurse’s office by Wednesday in order to take advantage of this opportunity on Thursday, January 22. Physical packets can be picked up in the front office.

Teacher of the Year Nominations

Teacher of the Year nominations are being accepted at this time.  Please consider taking a moment to nominate one of your child’s teachers here at GTMS who you feel inspires students of all backgrounds and abilities and who promotes excellence in education.  Nomination letters should be submitted to the Principal's office by Wednesday January 21st.  The nominating committee is certainly looking forward to reading your nominations.

Absegami Guidance Counselor Visit

Progress Reports Distributed 1/6

Progress reports were given to students today in homeroom. Progress reports must be signed by a parent/guardian and returned to your child's homeroom teacher.
